| | It's hard to believe we've only been on the road since Halloween - We've been so busy that it feels like months! Since my last post, we played twice in Rio Rancho and had a lot of fun. Except for Alex, who got his new cell phone stolen. Not cool. Las Cruces, NM was next. Terrible sound (we played in a gym/reverb tank) but had a great show. We had a bunch of CDs with cracked cases, so we offered them to our poor, college-going audience for $5 a piece. It seemed that we sold more CDs than there were people, so that we exciting! Our album finally came out on the 14th, and we played at Harvest Christian in El Paso, TX. Very cool show! We met a lot of people in El Paso, including a man who looked just like Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite. AMAZING! Our shows in Odessa and Sweetwater, TX both went very well. In Odessa, we played a pretty small room with a pretty small stage. But, that also meant that everyone who came pushed their way right to the edge of the stage. Good times! Sweetwater was next, and we played after a bunch of kids returned from a high school pep rally. We had a blast! The show was a little crazy, and there may or may not have been some impressive jumps and kicks thrown onstage. We had a lot of time to talk to everyone afterwards, and some people from the church brought us to an amazing barbeque place the next day for lunch. Thanks! We spent last night in downtown Dallas. We went to a Tower Records that was closing, and I scored big on a handful of CDs I've been looking for, which were all 40% off! BOO YAH! While we were walking around downtown, we saw the place where JFK was assassinated (There's an X on the road marking the exact spot where he was shot) Then, we saw the new Christopher Guest movie "For Your Consideration," and it was hilarious. NOW, we're in Midlothian, TX, not too far out of Dallas. We're playing a cool club in downtown Dallas called The Door tonight, with a bunch of other bands. We won't have to lug all of our big PA speakers in tonight, so I'm excited enough about that. Hopefully, the energy we'll save from not having to set everything up will come out on stage tonight. After The Door tonight, we play at Midlothian Bible Church tomorrow morning, and then we head home. Woooo!
I'm out. Cheers! phil
(The pictures are almost all from the Sweetwater show. Dig it.)
